Happy Next FBLA Competition!
I’m finally getting this years FBLA game online (it is unfinished right now).
Theme
This year the theme is : Career Quest
Create an engaging game where players jump into mini-worlds that showcase different careers. In each career world, players must:
Experience a short scenario that captures what the job is like Complete skill-based challenges and tasks unique to that profession
My Idea
I’m going to create a WarioWare type of game for this year with each minigame being a career, for example the Electrician’s minigame being connect the wire
Also this year the Rating sheet has been changed some changes are
- instead of ‘at least one advanced rule feature available’ that is now ‘rules are well explained to the judges and exist withing the game’
- the Implementation section is written more clearly
- added a section of UX Design
- the multiplayer part is gone (Yippie)
- the Presentation Delivery section is written more clearly
- added 10 point for following the guidelines (so instead of out of 100 points not its 110)
A little change is that this year competitors have to sent in their Work in progress around district’s time, just to show FBLA that you are working on it (this is a Straight to State Event)

So, fun fact, I am the one that caused all of the changes to the rubric!
Why thank you. I would have never known, but I’m very happy. After reviewing all the changes, they All seem very good. I’m mostly happy the mult-player feature is gone :).
Multiplayer in particular was a really dumb thing to have on the rubric. The only thing that I would want to add at this point would be to make it so that the game is judged in a separate portion, like what Digital Video Production does. Anyways, it looks like you are doing amazing with your game so far, I hope that we can both make it to nationals =]
